On Sunday 11 March our Youth Orchestra performed side by side with the London Mozart Players in a special performance of Holst's The Planets, conducted by Peter Stark! London Mozart Players also performed Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony.



On Friday 23 March we head to St Mary Magdalene Church with world music/jazz pioneers, the Grand Union Orchestra, for an evening of music from around the world. Our Youth Concert Orchestra will be joining them for part of the show.

On 23 March the Grand Union Orchestra will be joined by Croydon Youth Concert Orchestra for Trading Roots, celebrating many of the heritages which make up Croydon’s diversity.  Here is a short video introducing the orchestra.


In our concert with the London Mozart Players on 11 March, the London Mozart Players performed Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony.  Watch this recording to see how the composer packs all the colours of the different instruments into 15 minutes of sheer joy.

London Mozart Players were joined by the Croydon Youth Orchestra for Holst’s Planets.  You will recognise Mars and Jupiter, but listen to some of the others performed at the Proms in 2016 by the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
