Bronia Parry - Assistant Head of Service
Bronia Parry was born in North Wales. She started playing the bassoon at the age of 14 and became a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales and North Wales Youth Orchestra.
She studied at Kings College London, Guildhall School of Music, the National Centre for Orchestral Studies Goldsmiths College and gained her PGCE from Roehampton University. She has played with some of the leading UK orchestras including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Ulster Orchestra and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. She was sub principal bassoon with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon between 1980 and 1983.
She joined Croydon in 1985 initially as maternity cover. 30 years later she is now assistant head of Croydon Music and Arts and included in her role is conducting the Croydon Youth Orchestra and head of the Senior Groups on a Friday evening.
