Tamsin Bird -
Leader of Instrumental Music Development

Tamsin studied clarinet and piano at the Royal College of Music Junior Department and subsequently gained an ARCM in clarinet teaching. She also has an English Degree from York University. Tamsin taught clarinet and saxophone for 20 years at Bromsgrove School where she was also an Academic Pastoral Tutor.

After moving to Croydon in 2007 Tamsin took up a post with Croydon Music and Arts where she is now Leader of Instrumental Music Development, specialising in clarinet, saxophone and music theory. Tamsin also runs the CMA Clarinet Choir, assists with Concert Band and the Orchestras, and teaches recorder and ukulele.

Tamsin’s hobbies (when time allows!) include running, reading, mountaineering, gardening and sewing. She has two adult children, Hazel and Jonathan, and likes nothing better than to relax with her cat and husband, Andrew.
