The Student Council is made up of Reps from all three of our music centres who were nominated by their peers.
The Council meets two or three times a term to discuss different matters concerning our centres and how to run new schemes such as the Jack Petchey Awards. They also bring new ideas to the table that help to improve what our centres offer, for example on web design and music repertoire.
The Student Council was set up to offer our students the opportunity to get their voices heard, as well as learn new skills and meet new people. Council meetings are interactive and fun; Reps are encouraged to take on the roles of chairing and minuting the meetings, leading games and exercises and are supported to develop their advocacy skills. We also enjoy a good cup of tea and biscuits at every session.
If you’re interested in being a Rep this year, email Charlene.Browne-Marke@croydon.gov.uk with a short paragraph stating why you’d like to join.
