LMP Performance Presentation Course- Summer 2025

In conjunction with the London Mozart Players, CMA is offering a short course for older, more advanced students to learn how to prepare for and present a performance. In addition to looking at musical communication skills, the course will develop confidence in other useful life-skills. Depending on the students who apply, we will look at making some small groups, although some students may need to perform solo, with piano accompaniment (provided by CMA). The course will be FREE thanks to Arts Council England funding (for LMP costs) and music hub funding (for CMA costs) but it is important that those who sign up fully commit to the project!

Dates, times, venues (some tbc)

Saturday 5th July: 12-5pm at Oasis Academy Shirley Park, working with LMP musicians about presenting performances

Sunday 6th July: 10am-1pm at Oasis Academy Shirely Park, rehearsing and refining performances

Sunday 6th July: 2pm approx.. Performance in a local care home (details tbc). Particularly for those not available on Monday

(Monday 7th July: School hours) optional – a performance at a Croydon primary school tbc and at St Giles special needs school. The Monday performance opportunities are aimed at those in Years 11 and 13 who will no longer be attending school. Those unable to take part on Monday will be prioritised for the Sunday performance slots

LMP musicians and CMA staff will be at all workshops, rehearsals and performances but we will require students to make their own travel arrangements to performance locations. Plenty of time will be given for bus journeys.

We looked at running this course at Easter but only two students applied. Please could all students aged 14+ and minimum Grade 5 standard consider taking part in this fantastic opportunity. I am certain it will be inspiring and hugely confidence boosting.

For those who are keen, please complete this online form as soon as possible, and by the end of half term at the latest.
