No experience of folk music is necessary, all you need is to:

• be aged 12–18

• live in England

• be able to play confidently on your chosen instrument

All playing and learning will be done by ear – no need to read notation.If the cost of travelling would be a barrier to your attending an Open Day, please contact us as financial help will be available.If you enjoy the Open Day and have a passion for playing and collaborating with others, you may wish to audition for the National Youth Folk Ensemble. You can audition without attending an Open Day, but attending is highly recommended.
